I have an old mossberg 500 12 ga pump with a short barrel, fiber optic sight and carlsons xr turkey choke. I prefer it for running and gunning in the mountains. Short, simple, light and deadly to 50 yds and beyond. Can’t wait to get it out!

Some do. Some don't. I just might...

Shouldn’t be too hard to find a used Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 pump. I’m going with a 20 gauge.

I have four 870’s. The only one I ever take to the woods is my 20 gauge. Although last year I added a factory Remington 21” barrel with the slug gun sights. Handles like a dream and lights out with federal heavyweight 7’s or TSS 9’s.

Only ever used a Mossberg 500 to actually hunt with. I bought a Remington 870 20 gauge for my wife a few years ago trying to get her into hunting. I like the Mossberg way better.

Remington 870 is going to be hard to beat as far as a reliable, quality, reasonably priced gun.

Remington 1187, with the standard full choke tube. I've used it every year since 1987. Before that it's was a Mossberg 500 pump.

I shoot a benelli nova 12 gauge that I got a pawn shop with a carlsons choke. I bought a 20 gauge version for my wife and it’s great. It’s reasonably priced new. Like others have said, the Remington 870 and mossberg models are trustworthy.

My main gun is a Franchi Affinity compact model. I have an NWTF edition 1300 that I hunt with as well.

This will be my 2nd year of turkey hunting but im using a 870 super mag i bought years ago. For the price and durability i dont think anyone can go wrong with the rem 870s or the moss 500s,835s. I should say i bought the super mag just in case i wanted to hunt turkeys or waterfowl. As a teenager money was always tight so wanted 1 gun that could kill everything i could hunt in Iowa.

Mossberg 500 3 in 1. Rifled barrel, bead, threaded barrel. Use it for slug, upland, and turkey. Just mounted a vortex viper for turkey... can't wait
