Re: Live from the Field 2021
Had a great week of turkey hunting my wife and Father in Law doubled on Saturday. My father in law is an expert turkey caller and he called these 2 down from the roost. They flew down and pretty much ran in.
Then on Monday I heard more gobbles then ever. My friend and I had 12 to 15 gobblers respond to us. Had 8 gobbling off the roost most flew down and moved away, then one came in to about 80 yard and scared off from a Tom decoy. Had another that held up in a strut zone and gobbled at least 100 times. We played cat and mouse with him for 2 hours till finally he got above us and we believe he saw us. Went to a second property had 3 more toms respond and hold up across the valley right on the property line with no way for us to make a move on, then had 2 other birds sneak in quite and bust us. Then 3rd property finally got it done, 2 more birds responded and one finally came in. Great couple days of turkey hunting.

Good luck to all the Pa hunters out this morning on the season opener! I’m currently sitting in the dark in my spot waiting on daybreak!

Re: Live from the Field 2021
Punched my tag at 3:30 today. Private land MN. Super fun and short hunt. Spotted this bird bedded down on the woodline/field edge and snuck up to 15yds on him. Stuck him as he was ready to boogie. First bird with a bow
20lbs, 7” beard, 3/4” spurs
Congrats to all the other killers!

Missed a big one twice with the heater. Not happy right now. 10 yards and of course the follow up Hail Mary.

Re: Live from the Field 2021
Wisconsin Public Week 1, Day 1.(April 21) .
Called this gobbler in right off the roost. My season lasted 30 minutes ! 22lbs. I pretty much had watched him for the week before from a distance and got him patterned. This photo was taken in my backyard after I got home. ( The hunt itself had no snow.) In 2 days I get to go again and take my son. It sure has been fun !
