The turkey man comeith...

Unread postby dan » Sat May 08, 2021 1:42 am

Being stuck in turkey season with a late draw sucks... Everyone else out having fun, ans me sitting back seeing all the pics and videos.... I wanted to rub out of state and chase 1 or 2, but just to busy trying to get the Beast treestands ready to go to new forever homes...
I was wandering thru my old stuff and found this vintage video that made me smile and brought me back to an exciting old hunt and made me feel like I was there hunting all over again...
I saw a tom in a field with a hen on a farm I had permission on. Snuck around and set up and had that classic desperate hunt trying to pull that tom away from his girlfriend. A battle that seldom ends in more than frustration, when suddenly out of my blind spot another unseen tom came in quiet from my blind side and got within 3 yards...
Its great memories like this one that keep me heading to the field... Soon I will have this years tag and will go out and hunt turkeys that have been pressured like crazy... Beware Tommy, I like a challenge. Soon the turkey man b e coming for you....

That was sweet. Serves him right for coming in silent. 8-)

Pretty decent shot. Those birds are humbling at times.
