Hey fellas, I am gonna help a farmer out with his turkey population this fall as I deer hunt. I have only shot turkeys with the Magnus Bullhead so obvious aim point there but I see multiple opinions on aim point when using deer broadheads for body shots.
Where do you guys like to shot them? And what about from a tree stand, does it pin them to the ground? Appreciate it.

Facing away. Dead center between the wings and legs is my favorite. Die within seconds, can’t get altitude even if they try to get airborne.
No Shortcuts. No Excuses. No Regrets.

I'm no turkey expert but this seems like a pretty accurate discourse on turkey anatomy:

I wouldn't count on pinning a bird to the ground from a treestand; they are "dinosaur strong" and their legs are long enough that the arrow will probably break when they react.

Exactly same for me
Elevated treestand shots are tough if the angle is bad. If so facing away just at the base of the neck
I typically dont take elevated treestand bow shots

Thanks for bringing up this topic.
I also picked up a turkey permit for deer hunting this year. I had a couple times last year I could have gotten a shot at one. Hoping to get that chance again this year. I have never even hunted a turkey with a shotgun, so this will be a fun extra challenge.

Aim center mass from most angles and you should have a dead bird. Personally I like to take out the hips to break them down instead of aiming for vitals. Spine shots also put them down fast.

Thanks you for the insight, I appreciate it. I have always just head shot them in the spring so this will be new. I like the spine or thigh idea beings I will be in an area where I don’t want them going far. Do you have to put another arrow in them when you take the thighs out?
Hope you get one Muskie Dave, they a lot of fun to go after plus good eating!
