Had quite a few birds around, but this guy came into some light rhythmic clucks from about 200 yards out.

Finally one that read the script and I didn't mess up.

Took a trip up to the WV high country to hunt National Forest for a couple days. Had a big snowstorm with 8-10” the day before but was able to find some gobblers and killed one on day 2 after 10 miles in a couple days hunting this bird. Was finally able to crawl into range as he never would come to a call. Figured he was a heavy old long spurred turkey the way he acted but he was not. Was 14 lbs with an 8 inch beard that was halfway torn off. I think that concludes my season. Good luck to all those still hunting.

Buddy and I took a trip out to Montana chasing Merriams for the first time. Got here around noon yesterday, used the terrain to our advantage on this henned up gobbler. I crept over the hill and was able to crawl within 30yds of him while he put on an absolute show. Spitting, drumming, gobbling, the whole nine yards. Super pumped!!

i have another tag this week. Didnt hunt this morning but left the house early so i could drive around looking. I must have been feeling confident today because I ended up asking for permission by phone on two different private pieces. Both were solid "NO" One piece they had a nephew who is supposedly going to be hunting out there and the other guy said he never allows hunting so now i know why there's always tons of critters running around there.

On the edge of public. I think I have two separate birds gobbling but also heard a hen. The boys aren't real responsive... Yet.
